Radio Decibel is a commercial radiostation broadcasting in the Netherlands. The station has a rhythmic hot ac format. In the 80's Radio Decibel achieved great popularity and legendary status by using a new and unconventional music format, consisting of the best new dance tracks from the US, the UK, France and Germany. Album and single tracks, remixes and extended versions that at the time proved to be a great alternative for mainstream top-40 radio.
Radio Decibel is een legende in radioland. Op initiatief en onder leiding van Bas Emons werd eind 2007 in samenwerking met de oorspronkelijke oprichters van het legendarische Decibel Radio 96.2 FM uit Amsterdam een officiële en succesvolle 'legale' herstart gemaakt. Radiosterren als Jeroen van Inkel, Adam Curry, Rob van Someren en Daniël Dekker zetten hun eerste schreden op het radiopad bij deze voormalige Amsterdamse piratenzender en zorgden voor een revolutie in radioland door muziekkeuze en wijze van presenteren. Radio Decibel (The Original) bouwt hier op voort.
